Best for
  • Individuals or teams already using Trello for task management who want to manipulate cards and lists conversationally via Claude Desktop or Cursor
  • Developers who want quick Trello access from Claude Desktop or any SSE-capable MCP client
  • Users who already rely on Anytype as a personal or collaborative knowledge base
  • Users who want to create and manage Anytype objects quickly with natural language
  • Advanced users running the Anytype desktop app locally who want AI assistant integration
Not for
  • Users who need to create, rename, or delete entire boards (not supported)
  • Users without a Trello API Key/Token or without access to the Trello Power-Up admin page
  • Scenarios requiring official Trello/Atlassian support or enterprise-grade security auditing
  • Users without Anytype installed or running and unable to obtain an API key
  • Scenarios needing a remotely hosted service instead of a local stdio process
  • Users who want zero configuration without setting environment variables
Required permissions
  • A Trello API Key and Token (account-level access to read/write boards, lists, cards, and checklists the account can access)
  • Local .env file storing credentials in plaintext
  • Network access to call the Trello API, and (in SSE mode) an open local HTTP port
  • Requires an Anytype API key passed via an Authorization: Bearer header
  • Needs access to the local Anytype API service (default http://127.0.0.1:31009)
  • Passes authentication headers through the OPENAPI_MCP_HEADERS environment variable, treated as secret
  • Runs an npx command locally as a stdio subprocess
Risks and side effects
  • API Key and Token are stored in plaintext in the .env file — leakage grants full control over the Trello account
  • Delete/archive operations on lists, cards, checklists, and checklist items are irreversible
  • SSE mode exposes a local HTTP endpoint; the README does not mention any built-in authentication for it
  • This is a community-maintained third-party server, not reviewed or endorsed by Trello/Atlassian
  • OPENAPI_MCP_HEADERS contains the API key; leaking this configuration can expose Anytype data
  • The server can create and modify spaces, objects and lists on behalf of the key owner
  • Running npx -y downloads and executes package code from npm
  • Pointing ANYTYPE_API_BASE_URL at an untrusted address can send authentication headers there
